This technology was initiated in the West in the 1970s and was then used mainly in industry. However, it was only technological progress in the 1990s that allowed it to be spread among smaller enterprises and later around the world. From the very beginning, waterjet technology has been popular among small enterprises producing individualized projects due to the low cost of operating the machines. Interest in this technology in Poland began mainly thanks to popular science programs broadcast on television (e.g. Discovery Channel).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be more precise, the word waterjet, meaning &quot;jet of water&quot;, refers to the method of cutting with water alone. However, due to the limitation of this method to cutting only soft materials (i.e. foam, rubber, paper), technologies were developed in the 1980s <em>abrasive water jet (AWJ)<\/em> and <em>abrasive water suspension jet (AWSJ)<\/em>. <em>Abrasive water jet<\/em> is water cutting with the addition of abrasive, however <em>abrasive water suspension jet<\/em> involves the production of a suspension water-abrasive stream. Both technologies in Poland are called hydro-abrasive or water-abrasive machining. Most often, however, people in the industry use the word &quot;waterjet&quot; to describe the cutting technology with both water only and water with the addition of abrasive. In this way, water, by accelerating abrasive particles to a very high speed, is able to cut even the hardest materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This process is characterized by the following parameters:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Working pressure: 350-600 MPa<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water flow: 4-6 l\/min<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abrasive output: 300-500g\/min<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Water nozzle diameter: 0.3-0.4 mm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mixing nozzle diameter: 0.8-1 mm<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A water cutting machine consists of three basic components: a work table, a pump and a controller. In the case of abrasive water cutting (AWJ), it is also necessary to have an abrasive feeding system and a used abrasive removal system. The most important element of the Waterjet machine is the high-pressure pump, thanks to which water under high pressure can be supplied to the head through special conduits. Abrasive is also supplied to the head via a flexible hose. The head is mounted on a movable arm and its movement takes place in the X\/Y axis directions. The movement of the head is controlled by a controller with software that controls the movement of the machine. The working area of the machine is located under the head. It consists of a bathtub filled with water and a grate mounted on it, on which the material to be cut is placed. Due to the small distance of the nozzle from the processed material (approx. 1-1.5 mm), the grate should be perfectly level. Raising the water level in the bathtub to flood the processing zone significantly reduces the noise caused by the operation of the machine. Od samego pocz\u0105tku powstania, technologia waterjet cieszy si\u0119 popularno\u015bci\u0105 w\u015br\u00f3d ma\u0142ych przedsi\u0119biorstw zajmuj\u0105cych si\u0119 produkcj\u0105 zindywidualizowanych projekt\u00f3w ze wzgl\u0119du na niski koszt eksploatacji maszyn. Zainteresowanie t\u0105 technologi\u0105 w Polsce rozpocz\u0119\u0142o si\u0119 g\u0142\u00f3wnie dzi\u0119ki emitowanym przez telewizj\u0119 program\u00f3w popularnonaukowych (np. Discovery Channel). B\u0119d\u0105c bardziej precyzyjnym, s\u0142owo waterjet z j\u0119zyka angielskiego oznaczaj\u0105ce \u201estrumie\u0144 wody\u201d odnosi si\u0119 do metody przecinania sam\u0105 wod\u0105. Jednak ze wzgl\u0119du na ograniczenie tej metody do ci\u0119cia tylko mi\u0119kkich materia\u0142\u00f3w (tj. pianka, guma, papier) w latach 80-tych opracowano technologie abrasive water jet (AWJ) oraz abrasive water suspension jet (AWSJ). Abrasive water jet to ci\u0119cie wod\u0105 z dodatkiem \u015bcierniwa, natomiast abrasive water suspension jet polega na wytwarzaniu zawiesinowej strugi wodno-\u015bciernej. Obie technologie w Polsce okre\u015blane s\u0105 mianem obr\u00f3bki hydro-\u015bciernej lub wodno-\u015bciernej. Najcz\u0119\u015bciej jednak osoby z bran\u017cy pos\u0142uguj\u0105 si\u0119 s\u0142owem \u201ewaterjet\u201d dla okre\u015blenia technologii ci\u0119cia zar\u00f3wno sam\u0105 wod\u0105 jak i wod\u0105 z dodatkiem \u015bcierniwa. Technologia abrasive water jet ze wzgl\u0119du na swoje zdolno\u015bci przecinania bardzo twardych materia\u0142\u00f3w jest najcz\u0119\u015bciej spotykan\u0105 w bran\u017cy. Poni\u017cszy rysunek przedstawia g\u0142owic\u0119 tn\u0105c\u0105 systemu AWJ oraz proces powstawiania strumienia tn\u0105cego, kt\u00f3ry si\u0119 w niej odbywa. Bardzo du\u017ca pr\u0119dko\u015b\u0107 wody pod wysokim ci\u015bnieniem wytwarza podci\u015bnienie, kt\u00f3re samoczynnie zasysa \u015bcierniwo (z ang. garnet) do komory, gdzie nast\u0119puje ich zmieszanie. Powsta\u0142a w ten spos\u00f3b mieszanina formowana jest w dyszy mieszaj\u0105cej (z ang. mixing tube) tworz\u0105c strug\u0119 wodno-\u015bciern\u0105. Pr\u0119dko\u015b\u0107 tej strugi tu\u017c za wylotem dyszy wynosi ponad 500 m\/s. Takim sposobem woda dzi\u0119ki przyspieszeniu cz\u0105steczek \u015bciernych do bardzo du\u017cej pr\u0119dko\u015bci jest w stanie przeci\u0105\u0107 nawet najtwardsze materia\u0142y. Proces ten charakteryzuj\u0105 nast\u0119puj\u0105ce parametry: Maszyna do ci\u0119cia wod\u0105 sk\u0142ada si\u0119 z trzech podstawowych komponent\u00f3w: sto\u0142u roboczego, pompy oraz kontrolera. W przypadku ci\u0119cia wod\u0105 z dodatkiem \u015bcierniwa (AWJ) niezb\u0119dnym jest r\u00f3wnie\u017c posiadanie systemu podawania \u015bcierniwa oraz systemu usuwania zu\u017cytego \u015bcierniwa. Najwa\u017cniejszym elementem maszyny Waterjet jest pompa wysokoci\u015bnieniowa, dzi\u0119ki kt\u00f3rej woda pod wysokim ci\u015bnieniem mo\u017ce by\u0107 doprowadzana specjalnymi przewodami do g\u0142owicy. Elastycznym w\u0119\u017cykiem do g\u0142owicy jest r\u00f3wnie\u017c doprowadzane \u015bcierniwo. G\u0142owica jest zamontowana na ruchomym ramieniu a jej ruch odbywa si\u0119 w kierunkach osi X\/Y. Ruchem g\u0142owicy steruje si\u0119 za pomoc\u0105 kontrolera z wgranym oprogramowaniem steruj\u0105cym ruchem maszyny. Obszar roboczy maszyny znajduje si\u0119 pod g\u0142owic\u0105. Sk\u0142ada si\u0119 on z wanny wype\u0142nionej wod\u0105 i zamontowanym na niej rusztowi, na kt\u00f3rym umieszcza si\u0119 materia\u0142 przecinany. Ze wzgl\u0119du na niewielk\u0105 odleg\u0142o\u015b\u0107 dyszy od obrabianego materia\u0142u (ok. 1-1,5 mm) ruszt powinien by\u0107 idealnie wypoziomowany. Podniesienie poziomu wody w wannie tak, aby zala\u0107 stref\u0119 obr\u00f3bki pozwala znacz\u0105co zmniejszy\u0107 ha\u0142as spowodowany prac\u0105 maszyny.
